What is the difference between frameless glass and glass aluminum railings for decks and front steps?
Both are strong, low-maintenance, and last a long time.
Glass railings have metal posts and a top rail holding the glass panels in place. Frameless glass railings use minimal hardware, with glass panels held by small clamps or hidden fasteners—no top rail for an open look.
Frameless glass has no top rail blocking sightlines. Regular glass railings still offer a great view but include a top rail. Traditional glass railings also have a top rail for extra support.
Are frameless glass railings safe?

Do I need a railing system for my home insurance?
In order to meet building code, and qualify for home insurance there are certain requirements:
Stair railing: If you have three or more steps, you will need a stair railing system. Sometimes a grab rail is enough, and often the railing is only needed on one side. Contact us for more information.
Deck Railing: If your deck is more than 24 inches above the ground, it requires railing.
Balcony Railing: All balconies in Canada must have a railing to qualify for insurance.
